In material handling, warehousing and fulfillment, material has to be moved from one place to another. A Conveyor is a type of transport equipment, of which there are many types. Today, we’ll discuss one of the simplest types of conveyors: The Chute Conveyor.
Conveyor chutes are used in bulk handling to perform a variety of operations. In particular, the loading of a belt conveyor, and the transfer of material from one moving belt conveyor to another, are important tasks. Such operations are widely used for the transport of both coarse grain material (such as cereals, mineral ore and coal) and fine powders (as used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries).
Other Conveyors to Consider | ||
In general, a chute conveyor is ideal for the following:
- Unit/Bulk + On-Floor + Accumulate
- Inexpensive
- Used to link two handling devices
- Used to provide accumulation in shipping areas
- Used to convey items between floors
- Difficult to control position of the items
- Main method of transport is gravity, making a chute conveyor very inexpensive

We are looking for a price for (3) gravity feed package chutes for an Amazon project we are currently quoting. The approx. lengths are 20′ long by 24″ wide either steel or plastic design. If awarded the project we will design structural supports that we will supply. Provide shipping to San Bernardino, CA as FOB.

I am a mining Engineer at Messebo cement factor. we are using Limestone as a cement raw material from a higher elevations by using huge number of heavy machines. To reduce our operational costs we are searching for some means of transportation from the higher elevation (60-75 degree slop) of more than 300m.
so i need to see how your chute conveyor works and the application and cost benefit of it.
thank u in advance.

It was interesting when you talked about how conveyor chutes are used to load conveyors and transfer materials from one conveyor to another. According to my knowledge, it can be helpful to have an air cannon on hand to encourage the movement of bulk materials through the chute if necessary. Your article explained conveyor chutes in a way that was easy to understand, so thanks for taking the time to discuss this info!

Thanks, I’m happy to include more details about air cannons if you’d like to share. Your link is broken.
